Southwold Pier has for many years been a much-loved holiday resort. The non-commercialised sand and shingle beach with its array of colourful huts continues to attract visitors and residents alike. The refurbished pier is privately owned and fishing is now permitted. The beach has a full lifeguard service during the busy summer months and there is a special area reserved for water sports, which include water skiing and windsurfing.
